According to a post I read on Shay Cullen’s website, Shay Cullen had written a book entitled “Passion and Power” to be released in Ireland on 1 November 2006, and later in other places of Europe.

I can imagine the consternation that he will have when I file another libel case against him for said publication.

Here are some facts:

1. My children, my house maid and her children and I are the only persons in the book with disguised names, but he repeats the same lies that have landed him in front of other courts before, such as the ongoing case for claiming that I gave my house and lot to the maid to buy her daughter.
2. In the chapter where I am discussed, he also disguises the name slightly of Hartmut “Harry” Joost (hereafter only referred to as “Harry” on this page), but fully names him in other parts of the book, so that is an obvious attempt to make it appear that I am in league with some fictitious “sex mafia.”
3. The book may be published in Ireland, but as the writer decided to place his address in the book as being located at Upper Kalaklan, Olongapo City, this makes it within the jurisdiction to be filed in Olongapo City, where it will be filed shortly.
4. The book was sent to me by another person who had read parts of the book and found them to be libelous not only to me but to other named persons.  After all, what kind of priest calls honest lawyers who are merely doing their jobs “sleazy” (and that was not the only word used for different people named in the book)?
5. Although he attempted to disguise my name, he did make such statements that were totally untrue, such as making allegations that the “sex mafia” files so many cases against him, and numbers them.  The interesting part is that he never names the members of the sex mafia, only alludes to them, giving me the impression that just because someone opposes him such as I do, then that must be a member of the sex mafia.  In the case of filing of cases against him, his staff and those who either obstruct justice or other such illegal activities, it is I and I alone that filed so many cases against him, and that has him worried, which is the reason that he disguised my name as “American Joe” in the book.  If there are any other persons that have filed a case against him (other than Harry, who filed a couple), I am totally unconnected with them.
6. It should be noted that I have mentioned on my web site and in many private writings that there was a case filed in July 1974 for the theft of the property that is now Preda Foundation, Inc.  On Shay Cullen’s web site, I have never seen any mention of the incident, although I review that site often enough to obtain information as to his current activities and his latest libel about my family and I, yet in the book he states that Father Garon, the founder of DARE,  filed a case against him only because he wanted the glory of owning the property.  Is this a simple case of defaming the dead who cannot defend themselves?  What a shameful way for one priest to refer to another, but let’s face it:  47 priests lined up against Shay Cullen calling for the retrial of one Victor Keith Fitzgerald.  Did Cullen praise them for wanting to find the truth?  No, he denounced them in writing calling them pedophile protectors (and yes, I do have the document available)!

So there is where the current situation is at.  I will update this page as the case goes to trial, but unlike Shay Cullen, I will not glorify the proceedings, only report events that are public knowledge locally, with permission of the court as required, something that to date, Shay Cullen has failed to do.

The case never went to trial.  After Shay Cullen submitted his counter affidavit which claimed the book could not be bought or obtained in the Philippines (and that was in direct opposition of the physical presence of the book in front of the prosecutor), I noted that Shay Cullen stated that he had been a writer and publisher for more than thirty years.  Another counter affidavit in another case said that he had never been a writer or publisher, so with the two conflicting counter affidavits in hand, I filed a charge of perjury against Shay Cullen.  What do you think happened?

Right, both the libel and the perjury complaints were dismissed.

Shay Cullen says that the Philippine prosecutors and government officials are corrupt.  Is there any wonder why he might know that and broadcast that all over the world without any repercussions?

Now, due to his libelous book, "Passion and Power", I have written my own book, "Hard Questions" which I am sure that Shay Cullen and his Preda Foundation supporters are going to scream about, as it asks embarrassing questions about his book.

Questions like, "Am I a malicious person to file charges of libel and perjury when I see those things?"

And I don't answer the questions, I let the reader come to his or her own conclusion.  Libel, or freedom of speech?
